Sophie Scholl
1921 – 1943

Sophie Scholl was only twenty-one when she stood against the Nazi regime. With her brother Hans and their friends, she helped form the White Rose, a student group that spread leaflets calling for freedom and an end to tyranny.

The image on this shirt shows Sophie smiling. Not as a martyr, but as a young woman who believed in life, in dignity, and in the right to speak.

In February 1943 she was arrested for handing out leaflets at her university. Days later she was executed by guillotine. Her last words were, “What does my death matter, if through us thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action?”

This shirt honors Sophie not only for her sacrifice, but for her spirit. A reminder that resistance can look like courage, but it can also look like joy, and a refusal to let fear erase humanity.
