Geronimo (1829–1909)
Geronimo was an Apache leader who fought against U.S. and Mexican forces that invaded his people’s land. For decades he resisted colonization, refusing to surrender until the very end. His name became a battle cry, but also a symbol of survival and defiance.
This design by Alexander Hayes captures Geronimo in silhouette, stripped of detail yet impossible to erase.
It is a reminder that resistance is not only about victory. Sometimes it is about refusing to vanish.
